3.0 Policy Development

Policy Development This section deals with the critical issue of how to develop a policy to promote responsible sourcing. This policy will dictate the activities that must be undertaken to deliver the objectives of the programme as a whole.

  • A key role of the policy is to establish the framework upon which a culture of responsible sourcing can be built.
  • A good policy will define exactly all of the issues it seeks to address and will identify what is and what is not acceptable to the purchaser. The policy will clearly convey the values of the organization and show how these values will be upheld.
